Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd edition of the International Advances in Surgery Conference. The inaugural event held in Barcelona in December 2008 was a great success. The outstanding faculty created such a vibrant meeting with a free and exciting exchange of ideas that the congress exceeded all expectations. That’s why we have now accepted the challenge of creating a bi-annual meeting focused on controversial contemporary challenges in surgery. As chairmen, we are committed to convening experts from around the world to discuss and debate the important challenges facing us in general surgery. Our plan is to design a conference wherein the experts often present conflicting views and where reactions and input from the audience are encouraged to enhance the debates. We expect presentations that are provocative and of unsurpassed quality as we examine the frontiers of Surgery in 2010.

The meeting will be held in Barcelona, a city with a unique blend of history and modernity that hosts some of the most important health research centers in Europe. This edition is part of the new innovation, education and research platform recently launched by the City of Barcelona.

December 2010 seems far away, but we are asking you to reserve these dates now because we know how busy you are.
